Role Overview :
Caterpillar is a global leader in manufacturing, digital solutions, and sustainable technology. As a Software Engineer 1, you’ll be part of a team driving cloud-based web application projects using Java & modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, test, and deliver high-quality software based on specifications
- Work with Java, J2EE, AJAX, Web Services, and Cloud-based applications
- Analyze requirements and assess the impact on existing applications
- Collaborate with team members, leads, and stakeholders
- Apply Java Design Patterns, JPA, Hibernate, Spring Boot, JUnit for efficient coding
- Ensure secure and scalable software design using MVC architecture
Eligibility Criteria :
- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in Java & J2EE technologies
- Strong expertise in JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, Spring Boot, REST APIs
- Proficiency in Git version control (branching, tagging, merging)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design & MVC architecture
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud (PaaS) with Java
- Strong debugging & business application design skills
- Familiarity with Eclipse, Maven, and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of secure application development
- Experience in technical documentation & project estimation
